The Creative City Centre is a fully licensed, all-ages, and wheel-chair accessible facility located in the heart of downtown Regina.

We encourage audience members to engage during the performances – snap, make cheesecake noises (mm’s and yes), laugh, stomp, or otherwise make your appreciation known!

We are so excited to get to host our first open mic in our new home as part of Culture Days! Our spoken word events are magical nights, where community comes together to share stories, poems and words that make us laugh, or cry, or any emotion in between. Sign up for the open mic starting at 6:30 pm, with spots limited to 12 poets. Open mic starts at 7pm, followed by a short intermission before a poetry set from our feature, Oma is Loud.
Feature performer: 
Oma is Loud is the 2026 Canadian Poetry Slam Nationals Champ. A three-time winner of the Calgary Poetry Slam, she is a Poetry Translation Centre (UK) Undertow Fellow. Her poetry-theatre production, Pretty Dangerous: Four Acts on Womanhood, premiered at the Calgary Central Library in March 2026. A stark raving mad poet, she stays wild in her musings until 9 pm or so.

At the Creative City Centre we strive for inclusivity and respect in the community both inside and out of our facility, which is why we have compiled the following guidelines to remember both for our events and also in everyday life.
• We encourage respecting the way folks self-identify, without assuming gender, sexuality, orientation, religion, or ability.
• We understand that at times folks may need to leave or engage in other methods of self-care, and that’s okay.
• We encourage language that promotes inclusivity, education, and awareness and dislike all forms of explicit ignorance including, but not limited to, hate speech, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and classism.
• We encourage the culture of consent meaning we respect people’s physical, verbal, and emotional boundaries. This means respecting that some people might not want to be hugged and if you want to engage physically in any way with a person it is important to ask permission before doing so.
