Meet the Artists

Megan Nash

Megan Nash is writing some of the most beautiful songs in this country right now” – Tom Power/CBC Radio’s q. Megan Nash (she/they) is a songwriter that lives on Treaty 4 Territory. They’ve won and been nominated for numerous awards, including a 2019 JUNO Award nomination for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year for Seeker and a 2021 Best of Moose Jaw Award for Best Musical Artist. The recognition back home is in no small part due to her long and winding history of hitting the road, where she’s done international showcases in the United States, the UK, Germany, and Estonia on top of countless gigs in Canada’s small towns and sprawling metropolises. When Nash isn’t writing songs, she is walking her best pup Shiloh and eating stinky cheese.

Belle Plaine

Belle Plaine was raised on her great-grandparents’ homestead on Treaty 4 in Saskatchewan. Belle embodies country, blues and folk music, while never fitting squarely into one category. She’s part troubadour, part honky tonk front-woman, part grizzled bandmom. Whether you saw her in your local roadhouse or fronting an orchestra, you know Belle is a storyteller who embodies the prairies. Her album Malice, Mercy, Grief + Wrath earned a 2020 JUNO nomination for artwork, drew accolades from Rolling Stone and was awarded Album of the Year at the 2018 SMAs. Belle was nominated for Roots Solo Artist at the 2019 WCMAs.

Kara Golemba

Kara Golemba’s guitar wrapped poetry is a blend of folk, roots and country. Her honeyed voice can be sweet and charming or powerfully raised to rattle the teacups. Every Little Light, Golemba’s debut EP established her reputation as an insightful singer songwriter. The 2016 winner of the 620 CKRM Proudly Saskatchewan showcase and the Spirit of Saskatchewan songwriting award for “Mason Jar of Memories” Kara has been playing stages across Western Canada and is looking towards the anticipated release of her LP “Keep These Stories Safe”

Stacy Tinant

Stacy Tinant is a Saskatchewan based multi-instrumentalist, known for his experimental sound-design, and his energetic, impassioned live performances. He is the singer, guitarist, and creative force behind progressive-emo project “The Moon Runners”, and performs with the Franco-Psych-Pop “Ponteix”. In some circles, he is referred to as “the snack king”, and enjoys a good bag of chips.

Aurora Wolfe

Hailing from the rolling pastures of Mortlach- Aurora Wolfe is a visual artist, gardener, and the singer/ songwriter for the garbage-pop group Dump Babes. Her artistic and songwriting practice centers around sharing contemporary narratives and historical truths. Her latest work delves into the generational effects of Indigenous displacement with a trashy disco twist. Keep your ears peeled for Dump Babes full length album to be released in early 2022.
