AUNTIE KD (she/they/he) is a queer, Indigenous (Cree) emerging producer, composer, songwriter and drag musician—born and raised in Treaty 4 Territory with lineages from Cowessess First Nation (Mother), and Peguis First Nation (Father).
Their style is a blend of Indie, Alternative Rock/Pop experimenting with traditional Indigenous language and music creation. Influenced by creators like Doechii, Rostam Batmanglij, Brian MacDonald, Trixie Mattel, Nehmasis, Little Simz, Tia & Fawn Wood, Queen, and countless others–they intend to amplify BIPOC & 2SLGBTQ+ musicians/artists and expand representation, exploring modern Indigeneity and relationship to land. The drag stage persona ‘AUNTIE KD’–is an homage to community roles as an Indigenous person, celebrating fluidity within societal roles imposed by colonial worldviews. Their debut tracks “Didn’t Ask” and “Hell on Earth”, are a glimpse of an upcoming debut album release in 2027.
