That’s right, the Hidden Talent Show is back again this year! Join us for a fun night of clowning around, music and artmaking!
Uncover your own hidden talents through our multiple artmaking stations including: linocut, mini screen printing, origami, bracelet making and more. Checkout the face painting station to unlock a new look! Perhaps share a karaoke song on our new stage! Be prepared to have fun and make discoveries!

Mackenzy Vida - Screen Printing
Try printmaking! Learn how to create your own stamp with a simple line drawing. Using foam, ink rollers, and your imagination, explore printmaking methods inspired by traditional intaglio etching techniques.
Mackenzy Vida is a multidisciplinary artist based in Regina, Saskatchewan, on Treaty 4 territory. She works primarily in illustration, painting and printmaking. Deeply influenced by art therapy from a young age, she is now committed to making art accessible through workshops and community projects. Her visual language, characterized by expressive linework, allows her to explore her identity as an emerging Francophone artist in the Prairies. Yvonne Niegas - Linocut
Join Yvonne for a one-layer linocut workshop! Learn how to design, carve, and print your own artwork. You can draw directly on the block or transfer an image of your choice. Feel free to bring your own images or drawings to work from! Block sizes available will be 3×4 inches and eraser sized(stamp style).
Yvonne Niegas is an emerging artist based in Regina, Saskatchewan, working primarily in printmaking. Born and raised in the Philippines, their practice is rooted in the intricacies of human experience and connection, exploring themes of identity, belonging, and emotional resonance. At the core of their work is an interest in interpersonal connection, captured through moments of vulnerability, humanity, and quiet intimacy.
Yvonne is the gallery assistant at Neutral Ground Artist-Run Centre who received their BFA from the University of Regina and is currently pursuing a Post-Baccalaureate program in Visual Arts to further develop their practice. Alongside their studio work, Yvonne is actively engaged in community initiatives, volunteering in arts-based programs and mentoring youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Geanna Rae - Origami Bison Skulls
Geanna Rae is a prominent Plains Cree-Métis and German multidisciplinary artist, spoken word poet, body modification artist, and entrepreneur based in Regina, Saskatchewan (Treaty 4 Territory). Known for her emphasis on sustainable art and community-led collaboration, her diverse portfolio includes large-scale street murals, sculptures, and traditional Indigenous tattooing. Her work frequently centers on cultural reclamation, decolonizing art spaces, and youth mentorship.
Bringing her passion for interactive art to the local community, Rae will be participating in the Creative City Centre’s event, The Hidden Talent Show. During the creative evening, she will engage with attendees by handing out custom origami packages designed for folding 3D bison skulls. This hands-on activity seamlessly tied into her ongoing artistic themes of using papercraft and animal skull imagery to explore deep-rooted connections to the land, history, and wildlife of the Plains.
Karlie King - Fabric/Yarn Hanging Wall Art
We will have fun with colour and texture while making a yarn/fabric wall hanging. You’ll learn how to attach various coloured yarns, ribbon, and fabric to dowling to create an aesthetically pleasing piece of textile art.
Karlie King’s (BA, MA) artwork covers a broad range – from a functional line of pottery, to large-scale community projects, to street art. King’s artwork has been commissioned by the City of Regina and is also included in the SaskArts Permanent Art Collection. Plus, her artwork has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the country. Much of King’s artwork focuses on repetition and concentric rings as well as patterns and palettes of nature. Alongside her art practice, King is the Coordinator for SaskGalleries, is a mother, and has a passion for plants and astrology.
Joel Hustak - Sketching From Your Imagination
‘Sketching From Your Imagination’ Joel will demonstrate conjuring the imagination into reality with dynamic sketching techniques.
Joel Hustak is a fantasy and science fiction illustrator. He specializes in character, creature, and environment illustration for the entertainment industry. He has worked on many projects for various properties, including Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Game of Thrones. Joel enjoys bringing his imagination to life using realistic lighting, texture, and form. The majority of his artwork is created digitally with a Wacom Tablet and Photoshop. Joel also uses a variety of traditional mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolour, acrylic, and oil paint.
Iris and Zoe James - Build Your Own Bracelet
Join the James sisters and design your own bracelet! Choose from an assortment of beads, and create a new statement piece to accessorize with!
Iris and Zoë James have been an unstoppable duo from day one. Growing up under an artistic family introduced them early on to their passions. Some parts of it, the two both enjoy. They grew up dancing at FadaDance studio for a majority of their lives, and are so grateful to have the experience and community built through that.
Other areas, they have branched off separately, though still making time to create together. Iris has always had a love of fashion, illustrations, and creating things with her hands, bringing colours together to create beautiful designs. She loves a spooky true crime almost as much as a wildlife documentary series.
Zoë is more focused on the musical side of things. Whether its creating music or dancing to it, she enjoys expressing herself loudly. Zoë is a sucker for a good harmony and a sad song, often annoying her sister Iris with her constant harmonizing.
The two have been known to dabble in the other’s main art form, each bringing their own set of skills together, making them the ultimate collaborative pair.
Skylar Yu - Face Painting
Try out a a new look at Skylar’s face painting station! She has a steady hand and a variety of designs to choose from to make your face paint dreams come true!
Skylar Yu is a Regina, SK emerging creative with a passion for the arts, music, and her community. Currently, she is in her fourth year as a contemporary dance instructor at FadaDance, a choreographer and a performing artist through FadaDance Troupe’s Emerging Ensemble.
As a keyboardist in the bands Zoë James And The Wistful Daydreams and August Figures, Skylar is a strong believer in the power that art has to support activism. Aiming to further connect her communities, she became a founding member of Art For Change (est. 2022), an emerging non-profit organisation connecting live music to raising money in support of local initiatives.
Regina Art Supply Exchange - Collaborative Mosaic
For our activity, we will use supplies that have been donated to RASE to create a collaborative mini paper square mosaic that will hang in our new shop. Come find the perfect 1 inch by 1 inch piece of scrap paper to add to our mosaic!
We will also be distributing some paint that we cannot keep in our temporary storage locker. You just have to either fill in our Future Planning Survey (a QR code will be available at our table), donate to our organization, or buy a membership to take some paint home!
Regina’s Art Supply Exchange (RASE) is a non-profit organization and creative reuse centre. A creative reuse centre is like a thrift store that only collects materials with artists and creative activities in mind. Our goal is to provide affordable second hand art making materials to help remove one barrier to creativity. We are also volunteer run to give the community in Regina the best deal on thrifted art supplies. While our shopping and material donations are paused until November 1 due to a move, we are happy to be out in the community continuing to help people get creative!
