A cup of coffee that warms your hands on a rainy day; the feeling of wind rushing through the car window as you sing your heart out on the highway; songs that feel like “love letters set to music” (Kate Stevens, CKUA). Jed and the Valentine (Maria Khaner and Jonah Morris) weave glimmers of guitar and banjo with their soul-stirring vocals, carefully crafting their own personal brand of sun-dappled indie-folk. The duo had been dating for two years before they decided to start casually writing songs together, bringing their most vulnerable moments into music.
It was only months before they were invited to play at some of Canada’s major folk festivals, and in the year following, they released their debut album Awake! (2024). Their debut was full of wonder; the album brought soaring harmonies, rich layers of melodies mingling with one another, and lyrics that dance alongside the mix of string and brass instruments creating a fusion of bluegrass, pop, and indie. In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb (2025), the duo’s sophomore album, punctuated the duo’s journey with a spot in CKUA’s Top Ten. Jed and the Valentine wear their hearts on their sleeves — and still leave you wanting more.

Merv xx Gotti is an award-winning Asian Canadian singer-songwriter best known for his solo dream-folk project, Guitar Songs.
Alongside his back-to-back showcases at SXSW three years in a row from 2024-2026, Merv xx Gotti releases his debut studio album, Guitar Songs: A Thesis on Low-Efficiency Emotional Excavation.
The album first single, “Jiujitsu,” was named one of CBC’s Top 100 Canadian Songs and received airplay on over 21 CBC stations, including national music shows such as Marvin’s Room with Jemeni and Afterdark with Odario Williams. The album itself charted on over a dozen campus radio stations across Canada and the US.
Merv xx Gotti has toured extensively, performing at major festivals such as SXSW (Austin, TX), Reeperbahn (Hamburg, Germany), and M for Montréal (Quebec), as well as renowned folk festivals including Folk On The Rocks (Yellowknife, NT), Mariposa Folk Festival (Orillia, ON), and O+ Festival (Kingston, NY). He has shared the stage with Canadian icons such as Chantal Kreviazuk, Great Lake Swimmers, and Aysanabee, and performed to audiences as far as the UK and India.
In 2025, he won Music Professional of the Year at the Saskatchewan Music Awards and was nominated for SK Arts’ Arts of Celebration in the Established Artists and Arts Leaders category.
His singer-songwriter style has been described as “dream-folk,” blending elements of contemporary folk, indie, and dream-pop. He has been likened to artists such as City & Colour, Keshi, and Cigarettes After Sex.
He is currently working on his sophomore album, Children of the Moon.

Zenaya Semple is a singer-songwriter from Regina, Saskatchewan who was thrust into the world of music not long after her birth, performing alongside her family band, The Gene Pool. Growing up surrounded by music, it didn’t take long for Zenaya to start writing and developing her own unique sound. After honing her craft as a performance major at Selkirk College, she currently resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 2021, Zenaya decided to take her dreamlike and melodic songwriting out of her bedroom and onto the stage. Since then, she has graced stages across Western Canada, including Regina Cathedral Village Arts Festival and The Winnipeg Folk Fest youth stage. Zenaya’s supple and comforting tunes, paired with her surprisingly witty banter, make for a show you won’t want to miss. Her debut single, “Black It’s Blue,” released in October 2023, gives notes of Clairo and Haley Heynderickx while staying true to her roots with whispers of Leonard Cohen and Neil Young.
